House Bill 4251 would repeal an ordinance making it unlawful to sell small animals that have been dyed. Matt Blakely from the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Affairs is against the repeal saying "This promotes impulse buying of chicks and ducklings for children,” chicks and ducklings carry bacteria that can sicken children and "The animal becomes a pet for a while and then is a care burden."

The last sign up for Lapeer Sharks Youth Football and Cheer is this Sunday March 29, from 3-6 pm at River Ridge Mobile Home Park club house in Lapeer located at 25 Pine Ridge Drive. Lapeer Sharks football is open to 6-12 years of age and cheer 4-12. The cost is $125 for cheer and football ages 7 and under and $175 for football 8-12. Everyone gets awesome Shark jersey with their name on it to keep.
