Slash, Duff McKagan + More React to Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe’s Not Guilty Verdict on Twitter

This morning (March 5), a Czech court cleared Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe of charges related to the 2010 death of a fan at a concert. Following the acquittal, many of those in the rock community, including former Guns N’ Roses members Slash and Duff McKagan, took to Twitter to voice their approval and show their support. Their tweets are embedded below.
Last June, Blythe was arrested and charged with manslaughter after the death of Daniel Nosek, a 19-year old who attended the Lamb of God’s concert in Prague on May 24, 2010. Nosek had attempted a stage dive, but fell and hit his head. Later that night, he was rushed to the hospital, where he had emergency brain surgery. However, he soon slipped into a coma and died a few weeks later.
Prosecutors had alleged that Blythe pushed Nosek off the stage, but due to the combination of forensic evidence, inconclusive video evidence and testimony from unreliable witnesses, they were unable to meet burden of proof. A panel of judges said that Blythe was not at fault, and also placed much of the blame for the death on the venue’s poor security and safety precautions.
“This has been a very sad and emotive experience for me,” said Blythe (as quoted in Rolling Stone). “But I’ve tried to remain as objective as possible because my emotions have no impact on what is for me and for the family of Daniel Nosek the most important thing: the truth. He was just a boy. I wish he were still here.”
