Yes, the aurora borealis is awesome, but be warned, this solar storm could be a little too much for our power grid.

Bloomberg is reporting that, because of the recent solar flares hitting Earth, PJM Interconnection LLC, the biggest U.S. power grid operator, along with Midcontinent Independent System Operator, which oversees high-voltage transmission lines across 15 U.S. states and one Canadian province, have issue warnings on these solar storms as of yesterday.

Solar storms have the potential to either give us a great light show at night in the form of an aurora borealis, or take down power grids, low orbiting satellites and disrupt radio communications. They usually hit their peak in Fall and Spring. Looks like this particular one will be going until Friday (10/28).

Guess we will have to wait and see which one of the options we get these days.
