Sony Announces That Betamax is No More, You Feel Old

Welp, it's official, Betamax is dunzo. No, this is not 1985.

Sony announced today that they will stop producing Betamax tapes as of March 2016. Which leads to the question, they were still making them?!

if you remember, Sony gave the world the Betamax format in 1975, about a year before JVC debuted the VHS tape. The two formats battled for market dominance. VHS ultimately won the battle over Betamax, and we sitting pretty for years. Then, years later, LaserDisc and DVDs came in to ruin VHS's party.
