Mark your calendars and let the spring adventures begin. Seven Ponds Nature Center, a nature sanctuary and environmental education center, offers something for everyone from preschoolers and families to adult courses.
Come to the center and help with non-native invasive plant removal on Land Stewardship Day, Tuesday, March 20 (3/20), at 2 p.m. Learn about these plants and why managing them on your own property is important. Land Stewardship Days are great opportunities for community service hours and Master Gardener hours. Bring gloves and water. Additional Land Stewardship Day dates are April 8 (4/8), May 6 (5/6) and May 20 (5/20).
Explore vernal pools and forests looking for nocturnal critters and be serenaded by frogs during Equinox Night Hike on Friday, March 23 (3/23), from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Call the center to register at 810-796-3200.
Come dressed for the weather and be ready to explore new life with Nature Journaling on Sunday, March 25 (3/25), at 2 p.m. Bring a journal and your favorite pen or pencil. Colored pencils are optional. Pre-register by March 24 (3/24) by calling the center.
