Stevie Nicks to Play Elton John Foundation Benefit
Nicks, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame through her time with Fleetwood Mac, will perform music from both her band and solo careers. Earlier this year, Nicks made headlines with the news that Fleetwood Mac would reunite for a tour in 2013. As for 2012, Nicks has been playing dates with Rod Stewart.
This year’s ‘An Enduring Vision’ benefit takes place a Cipriani Wall Street, with Anderson Cooper hosting the festivities and Elton John and his partner David Furnish on hand to enjoy the performance and present the EJAF Enduring Vision Awards to such supporters as Robert Kraft, Diana Jenkins, and Joseph Blount.
The Elton John AIDS Foundation is celebrating its 20th year. John founded the organization after witnessing a number of his friends dying from AIDS and he’s dedicated both significant time and money to the organization over the last two decades. The 2011 event raised $2 million for AIDS treatment, prevention, and research. The organization has become one of the leading grant makers for AIDS-related issues in the world.
