You might want to think twice about sneaking up on your cat with a cucumber or anything else unless you want an expensive veterinarian bill. According to National Geographic, the sudden presence of an unexpected object is not only cruel but can cause serious injury. “Trying to startle your cat on purpose could cause them to injure themselves, break something or lead to prolonged stress” they said. Experts say cats aren’t afraid of cucumbers specifically but of anything that sneaks up on them and that cats have to be suspicious of the unknown.
