The regular Sunday afternoon bike rides of the Friends of the Flint River Trail will continue through the last Sunday in October.  These are ‘family-friendly’ rides of about 10 to 13 miles in length, starting promptly at 2:00 pm from the Flint Farmers’ Market. There are various destinations – including Bluebell Beach and Stepping Stone Falls.  These are ‘no-drop’ rides – with assistance available if needed for tire repairs and other minor problems.

Helmets are strongly recommended.

The Friends of the Flint River Trail also host one ride per month on other mid-Michigan trails – usually within a one hour drive from Flint. This Saturday  October 13, 2012 the ride will start in Milford, Mi at 10:00 AM.   The ride is the longest of the season – about 30 miles, and is quite hilly.  It includes the new Milford Trail, the Kensington Metro Park and the Island Lake Recreation area loops.  It begins and ends at the YMCA in Milford.

Individuals with questions about any of the bicycle rides or needing directions to the Milford YMCA may contact either Jack Minore (jacksonmin@aol.com) or Bruce Nieuwenhuis (bnbaton@gmail.com)
