In a first-of-it's kind "Regional Wage and Benefit Survey", findings indicate that more than 86% of companies surveyed expect to add new jobs in 2014, and the news was even better for Lapeer, where 91% of respondents anticipate hiring this year. Other good news reflected that more than 93% of firms in the survey did not expect layoffs in 2014.

The study, conducted by The Lapeer Development Corporation, the International Trade Corridor, and Mi Green Thumb in collaboration with the University of Michigan reflects an optimistic job outlook for this region.

The report is also a valuable tool to help recruit new businesses into the community
