There’s nothing like a nice swim on a hot day, right?

Police in Coronado, California arrested a man Monday morning after he spent seven hours in the water trying to elude officers.

Cops were trying to take the man into custody on drug charges when he jumped into the water and swam two-and-a-half miles, while threatening to kill anyone who closed in on him.

The suspect's Phelps-like jaunt eventually came to an end and authorities managed to haul him around 5:30 in the morning. He was brought to the hospital for hypothermia.
