Oh SNAP! Everyone’s been going crazy about Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican National Convention last night, in which he addressed an empty chair as though Barack Obama were seated in it. Jokes were made. Rallying cries were … cried. It was pretty much Twitter insanity. One joke stands above the rest when all is said and done though — this picture, posted by Barack Obama’s official Twitter profile, along with the accompanying text “This seat’s taken.”

While the rumor all week has been that a Ronald Reagan hologram would be the “surprise” guest at the GOP convention, instead it was Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood who helped to introduce Mitt Romney in Tampa.

And we think it’s safe to say Eastwood’s performance was “surprising.”

Clint Eastwood told reporters in 2008 that ‘Gran Torino’ was “probably” his last on-screen appearance as he was preparing to retire from acting.

Now it looks like that isn’t the case. According to Entertainment Weekly the 81-year-old is currently in talks to star in the baseball drama ‘Trouble With the Curve’ as a veteran scout losing his vision.
