Dixie Chicken

Lowell George and Bill Payne formed Little Feat in Los Angeles in 1969. Lowell was a member of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention and Bill had auditioned for The Mothers but never joined. 'Little Feat' came from a comment made by Mothers' drummer Jimmy Carl Black about Lowell's 'little feet.' The spelling of 'feat' was an homage to the Beatles.
