The Lapeer Kiwanis Club recently elected a new president. The hope for revitalization will soon rest on the shoulders of newly elected 28 year-old Emily Barber. She will be taking over for President Jeff Clemens in October and hopes to bring some new vitality and fresh faces into the club.

Fire In Downtown Lapeer
Update: Fire Chief Terry Kluge said the PIX Theatre appears to have suffered minor smoke and water damage. The fire is under investigation, however, the fire department has been unable to go into the buildings to do a full assessment.
