Large Tick Population Expected

Insect experts are warning people about an abundance of ticks this Summer.  Each year, thousands of people get Lyme disease but this year is expected to be worse.  Here's the reason why.  The acorn crop was small this year and as a result, mice didn't have much to eat and went elsewhere to look for food.  Without mice, there wasn't a lot for ticks to feed on so there are a lot of hungry ticks right now.
