The Center For The Arts presents 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame,' a sports-themed variety show, at the PIX Theatre tomorrow (7/16) at 7:30 PM. The show features local artists and is part of the activities surrounding the Smithsonian Hometown Teams exhibit at Gallery 194 through the month of July and is free and open to the public.

“The men that wrote Take Me Out to the Ballgame had never been to a ballgame which shows the power and influence of sports in our lives and I thought it made the perfect title for our show, a marriage of sports and the performing arts” said Jill Lyons, Executive Director Center for the Arts.

The variety show features bands, soloists, poetry, two one-act plays and some nostalgic recordings including Untamed Beauty- Deb and Emily Barber, Jim Albert, SOUL Ukelele group, Dave Kennedy and Tony Stroh. The one-act plays are 'The Save' by Dano Madden (directed by Mike Powell with cast members Joan Kimber, Michael Powell and Lisa Smith) and 'Striking Out The Babe' by Charlie Peters (directed by Mike Powell with cast members Chris Hunt, Joan Kimber and Brett Wefel).
