To promote their upcoming album, ‘Rize of the Fenix,’ Tenacious D have enlisted the help of their friends in both the comedy and rock worlds. Bob Odenkirk, known for his work on ‘Mr. Show’ and ‘Breaking Bad,’ teamed up with bassist Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne) to create an mock-informational film on behalf of the Tinnitus Institute.

As Dr. Bill Teetz, Odenkirk, who was also a writer on Tenacious D’s HBO series, explains that they will be studying what happens to tinnitus sufferers as they are exposed to ‘Fenix.’ Ralph, a roadie, is so enamored with the D’s sound that, even with the pain, he cranks up the volume as high as it can go. Yes, that’s even beyond a setting marked ‘Black Diamond.’

In another room, the music causes a jaded punk couple to begin making out in the middle of the laboratory after hearing just a few bars. Teetz and Sarzo decide to give them some privacy. They return to Ralph, who by this time, has become so out of control that two men in yellow outfits are brought in to subdue him. The men, who look suspiciously like Tenacious D’s Jack Black and Kyle Gass, are unsuccessful in their attempts.
