Rollings Stones guitarist Keith Richards is once again talking about the potential of a full tour for the band, without giving away too many details. He confirms reports that the Stones have been rehearsing with an eye on their 50th anniversary — which is today (July 12) — but they don’t have dates just yet.

“There’s things in the works, I think it’s definitely happening,” Richards told the BBC. “But when? I can’t say yet. We’re playing around with the idea and had a couple of rehearsals — we’ve got together and it feels so good.”

Previously Richards shared that the band had discussed a new album, but thus far all fans have seen to celebrate a half-century is a new logo and an exhibition of photographs that opens tomorrow at the Somerset House in London. The guitarist tells the BBC it was strange looking back on some of those memories.

“It’s amazing, most of these pictures I think, ‘where was the cameraman?’ I don’t remember them being there,” he said. No matter what happens in the future, nobody is uttering the “R” word, as in retirement. It seems the group wants to play as long as possible. “Sometimes its hard work and you wonder why you’re doing it, but apart from those few moments it’s been an incredible adventure.”
