Spider-Man: Homecoming is poised to bring Spidey back in a big way, and if early reactions from critics are any indication, this might be the best Spider-Man movie yet.* What comes next for our friendly neighborhood web-slinger? Well, he’ll be in both of the next two Avengers movies — Infinity War and the untitled film that comes immediately after that — and we already know he’s getting a sequel. We also know, as of today, that that sequel will pick up right after, and I mean right after, Avengers 4 concludes.

While speaking to Fandom about Sony’s upcoming Venom movie, Sony chief Amy Pascal told the publication that the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will start “minutes” after Avengers 4 ends.

What I think we should focus on is this Spider-Man who started in Civil War and then has this movie [Homecoming], and then will be in the Avengers movie. And we are starting now the next one which will start a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story.

This would be the first time an MCU movie began so immediately after the previous one ended, which means that something is probably going to happen in the follow-up to Infinity War. With the MCU reaching critical saturation levels, it may be time to thin the ranks a little. You’ve gotta have stakes in these movies: if everyone survives, there’s no danger. And a death at the end of one movie would certainly be reason to cut immediately to the fallen hero’s reeling comrades at the start of the next. So, who’s gonna get whacked? (And will it be Peter Parker’s mentor and first Avenger buddy Tony Stark?)

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7.

*Since Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2.
