The Tigers have parted ways with Brandon Inge.  The franchise released the infielder after Thursday’s loss to the Mariners.  Inge was drafted by the Tigers in 1998 and made his major league debut as a catcher in 2001, then moved to third base after the 2003 season when Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez took over behind the plate. This season, he was a part time second baseman, after Miguel Cabrera moved to third when the Tigers signed first baseman Prince Fielder.  He has been put on waivers and if no other team claims him over the weekend, he will be a free agent on Monday.  Inge will be replaced on the roster by Brad Eldred from Triple-A Toledo.  This season with the Mud Hens, Eldred is batting .388 with 13 home runs and 35 RBI.

Good Luck Brandon.
