Tom Petty Making UK Festival Debut At Isle Of Wight

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be making a career first.  The band will headline Britain's famed Isle of Wight Festival next year, which Billboard.com says will mark the group's UK festival debut.  It will also be Tom and bands first major  performance in the UK since the early '90s.  Isle of Wright Festival promoter John Giddings is pleased to have Petty and the Heartbreakers on board for the event.  He says on the festival's website that he's "sure it will be worth the wait -- they are one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time."  Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will wrap up the entertainment for the first night of the festival, which is set for June 22nd through the 24th.
