If you paid attention to social media at all over the weekend, you likely saw your timelines flooded with Father's Day photos and messages. But not all of the Father's Day posts are met warmly, as Tommy Lee found out while discussing being a father on social media and calling out his sons, with one of his kids, Brandon, issuing a stern reminder of what happened the last time he opened up about family on social media.

Lee stated in his posting, "Being a father ain't easy. I'm so tired of the fake shit I keep seeing all over IG ... let's get real: It's a rollercoaster, okay?" Lee then spoke of his own father who taught him to respect everyone and take care of the thing that he loved and how he hoped to instill those virtues in his own children.

The drummer admitted his failings, but also his desire to bounce back; he said that he felt his kids didn't know the value of things. "I never wanted this for my kids. I know I’m not fully to blame, because their mom has a lot to do with it, enabling bad behavior and buying them things when they weren’t good, but I guess I hoped at the end of the day they would end up kind. I love them dearly, don’t get me wrong, but man, sometimes it’s really tough to watch your kids grow up without those morals. Nothing can really prepare you for fatherhood... I love my boys but they can be assholes too...and that’s the truth," stated Lee. See his full posting below.

It didn't take long for Lee's son Brandon to respond. Earlier this year Brandon knocked out his father cold in an altercation at Lee's house. Both sides shared differing stories publicly with the drummer stating his son came to his home and attacked him in his bed, while Brandon painted a picture of an intervention turning sour. After some cooling off, Lee decided not to cooperate with the investigation into his son and the case was dropped by the Los Angeles District Attorney. But with Lee's latest social media posting, Brandon was quick to dredge up the incident again, initially posting video of a knocked out Lee with the caption, "Look a little sleepy there Tommy."

Brandon then went on to elaborate in a separate social media post, "Remember what happened last time you said this shit? night night. You gotta show up to be a Dad big guy. If you think we’re so bad (which I can assure you we are not) then you should have showed up to a few more BDays and baseball games. Someone like you couldn’t raise a man like me. Once again painting our family in a negative light. Who the fuck are you? Just move on dude... WE ALL HAVE. Or I’ll put you right back to fuckin sleep."

On Monday, a day after the initial messaging, Brandon Lee took it a step further asking his dad to speak to him directly rather than posting on social media. "I understand that your feelings must be hurt still about how things went down," says Brandon. "But please stop posting this all on social media, it's making us all act like kids. Let's just drop it dude." Despite the plea to keep things private, the younger Lee did get in a few final shots, as can be seen in the post below.
