Tommy Shaw says there's no no way that Styx and former frontman Dennis DeYoung will get back together. The guitarist tells RollingStone.com are teaming just isn't going to happen -- no matter how much fans might want it.  Shaw cites the band's failed attempt to work with Dennis again in 1996.

Tommy adds that DeYoung and his Styx bandmates confirmed back then that they have "a very negative effect on each other."  When Dennis and Styx parted ways in the late 1990s, they negotiated a deal for future performing.  DeYoung is now allowed to tour on his own as "Dennis DeYoung, formerly of Styx."  The rest of Styx continues to hit the road with a new singer, Lawrence Gowan.
Styx's current lineup is busy this summer.  The band launched a trek with Yes earlier this week. Styx & Yes July 20 at DTE Energy Music Theater.
