Lapeer Community Schools are shining this week's spotlight on 8th grader and recent "BOLT Bucks" winner Trista Mann.

BOLTS is an acronym for "Be: Organized Leaders Trustworthy Successful" -- which are the core principles that Lapeer Community Schools strive to instill in their students. Whenever students go above and beyond in demonstrating those core values, they are rewarded with "BOLT Bucks," which they can then use to win prizes throughout the school year.

LCS will also be spotlighting some of their best and brightest BOLT Bucks winners right here every week. This week's honors go to 8th Grader Trista Mann, here is our interview with this exceptional student:

What is your favorite class?
Science. I plan on going into the medical field, so it relates to what job I want. It is also a lot of fun. 

What is your favorite book?
'If I Stay.' [It] talks about a lot of tough decisions.

What is your favorite thing about attending Zemmer?
Seeing my friends and learning all of the different things that we do in class.

What is your most prized possession?
My family and friends. They are the most important to me.

Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
Robotics, Dance Classes and Dancing. 

What achievement you are most proud of?
I am really proud that our FTC Twisted Metal and Mechanical Mayhem Robotics Team made it to nationals in Iowa.
