Two new troopers for the Michigan State Police have been assigned to the Lapeer post.

The two troopers graduated from the MSP's most recent recruit school. According to the Times Herald, they'll spend the next 17 weeks in field training in Lapeer and St. Clair Counties. Michigan State Police Lieutenant Tom Kish, commander of the Lapeer post, says the troopers are "welcome additions for us." Counting the new additions to the Lapeer post and Port Huron detachment, Kish said there are about 26 troopers patrolling the roads in Lapeer and St. Clair Counties.

A warm welcome goes out to Troopers Damien Hoffman and Michael Powers!
