Verlander Wins 18th Game of the Season

Just when the Detroit Tigers looked like they were on the verge of de-railing their post season chances, Ace Justin Verlander takes the slab to halt another losing streak.  Verlander and the Tigers beat the Minnesota Twins 7 – 1 for his 18^th win of the season.  Tiger bats also did their part with 15 hits.  Every Tiger position player picked up at least one hit during the contest.  The two teams wrap up their series today with Brad Penny taking the mound for the Tigers.
