The Veterans Summit will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on August 26 at the Michigan Army National Guard Armory in Lapeer. A variety of resources will be on hand to explain to benefits that veterans are entitled to, ranging from education to employment to health and housing. In addition to the Lapeer County Veterans Affair Office, other resources expected to attend include Great Lakes National Cemetery, Michigan Works, and the Michigan Veterans Affair Agency.

“This is a great opportunity for veterans to gather information about various resources available to them,” said Edward L. Ronders, Director of the Lapeer County Veterans Affairs office. “Veterans and their families can meet and talk with local resources, such as our counselors, and find out about applying for VA medical benefits, a VA home loan, or disability compensation.”

There is no fee to attend the Summit but registration is required. A box lunch, compliments of the Buy a Vet a Lunch program will be served.

To register, call (810) 667-0256 or email jokreiner@lapeercounty.org.

You can also show up at the door.
