It’s Veterans Day, the national holiday set aside to honor the men and women who served the United States in war. Armistice Day, was established in 1926 to recognize the end of fighting in World War I at 11am, November 11, 1918. President Eisenhower renamed the observance to “Veterans Day" after World War II.

You can pay tribute this morning at 11am when ceremonies get underway at Veteran’s Park in Lapeer on West Nepessing across the street from Immaculate Conception Church.
