In late July, Motley Crue legend Vince Neil asked his fans to pray for his mother, who was in the midst of battling stage four cancer. Sadly, his mother Shirley lost her battle with cancer, passing away at the end of the month.

"It’s with a sad heart that I tell you of the passing of my mom affectionately known as Grandma Shirley. She loved rock and roll and Facebook. She’ll be missed by me and hundreds of others. A true love of my life. Thank you for your concern and prayers. It meant a lot. God bless," wrote Neil on Twitter (seen below).

The singer quickly followed up the message with another tweet (seen below), sharing a photo of him and Shirley smiling in a side-by-side embrace. "Life is so fragile and precious. We must kiss every moment in life - so we do not waste a single one. I love you mom," said Neil.

Two days after revealing the news, Neil was set to perform with his solo group at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany. He said it was with a "heavy heart" that he'd be playing and insisted, "on with the show," later sharing an image of the festival crowd, thanking the fans for their support.

Since Motley Crue's final show, which was held in the band's hometown of Los Angeles on New Year's Eve in 2015, Vince Neil is the only Crue member to regularly tour and perform the band's classics. He has a number of dates in Europe and North America slated through early December and you can check them all out here.
