The Tuscola County Sheriff's Department is warning residents about a recent Fed Ex scam.

Reports indicate a laptop was delivered to a Caro residence via Fed Ex, but the homeowner did not order it. The following day, someone impersonating a Fed Ex worker left a note that the laptop was delivered by mistake, and they (Fed Ex) needed the laptop back. It turns out thieves accessed the homeowners account (s) and personal information to purchase the laptop -  then allegedly came to the home to collect it. What a scam!

If you receive any unexpected packages, you may want to check your bank accounts and online purchase history. If there is some foul play afoot, it would be wise to contact the authorities before the scammers come a-calling. Consider yourself warned.
