Living in Durand (aka "Railroad City USA") until I was in 8th grade I am very familiar with trains, and it's stories like this that really make you realize how powerful they are.

A truck got stranded on a railroad crossing in California over the weekend. 30 seconds in to the video, the driver can be seen running from the cab of the truck toward the oncoming locomotive to try to flag down the driver.  But when a train is moving that fast it can take up to a mile to come to a complete stop.  Thankfully no one was hurt during this explosive collision.

Common sense dictates that when you're on railroad tracks and you see flashing lights and hear the warning signal, you need to move immediately!  Here's why.
