
$18.5 Million In Michigan Tax Dollars To Bring New Romulus Distribution Warehouse
Amazon estimates the move is valued at $140 million, $18.5 million will come from Michigan tax dollars.
Grants, tax dollars, and Amazon are all chipping in for the new Amazon distribution warehouse that is a whopping 84 acres.
Residents contributed $5 million in grants from the Michigan Strategic Fund, and will be paid back by Amazon over the next three years. Amazon plans to meet its hiring goal of 1,600 people as its 1 million square foot building is being built in the north Detroit Metropolitan airport.
