A gritty blend of rock and soul, seven albums released between 1969 and 1974 and constant touring with his Silver Bullet Band earned Bob Seger a dedicated following here in Michigan. ‘Live Bullet,’ recorded at Cobo Hall when it was an important rock venue, not only captured that dedicated following and the wild and free spirit of rock concerts in the seventies but introduced Bob Seger to a national audience. That audience would wholeheartedly embrace him six months later with the release of Night Moves. ‘Live Bullet’ was a staple of FM rock radio in Detroit when I was on the air at WRIF. ‘Nutbush City Limits’ and ‘Travelin' Man/Beautiful Loser’ were among the most widely played tracks. According to a Rolling Stone Readers’ Poll, ‘Live Bullet’ earned a place in The 10 Best Live Albums of All Time.
