Researchers suggest a hearty burst of laughter aids vascular function. The research is being presented at the European Society of Cardiology's conference in Paris. It also indicates that while laughing at something like a funny movie has health benefits, the opposite is also true as researchers say watching a scary movie narrows blood vessels. The findings reflect previous studies that suggest a link between mental stress and the narrowing of blood vessels. Michael Miller of the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore says the message is laughing is great for a person's heart.
