Todd Kelpin of Columbiaville 'Hit the Jackpot With Aersosmith' this past May. Todd won a trip of a lifetime from us - going to Las Vegas on the Fourth of July to see Aerosmith at the MGM Park Theater. The band has been performing their residency at the hotel since June.

Todd and his wife Karen had a blast! After arriving in Sin City, Todd shared some highlights of the trip, and of course the show,

We headed down to the casino to check things out, thought we’d stop and have a quick beer before heading out to the strip. I put a five in a video poker machine, started hitting a few hands and suddenly we were getting our drinks comped, lol. We ended up sitting there drinking free $10 beers and before we knew it, that “quick beer” turned into an evening!  Thursday after breakfast we headed out to the strip to do some sightseeing and people watching. We checked out the gardens and the water fountain show at the Bellagio, hard to believe how big that place is! We wandered around inside a bit to cool off, it was about 103 degrees outside. We headed back to the Park MGM where we were staying and had some dinner before the show. I had heard how good the food was in Vegas, and they were right! Some of the best meals we’ve ever had. We headed over to the concert, it was in a small theater that had about 5000 seats. Before the band came out, there was a video about 30 minutes long that had clips of each of the band members growing up and the history of the band. After that, the lights went down and the curtain went up! They kicked off the show with Train Kept a Rollin, and then went through a greatest hits set list that had a lot of their early hits and a few of their newer ones. The band sounded fantastic, you could tell they had the sound dialed in after being there for a while. After an encore that started with a grand piano coming up out of the stage for Dream On, into a vintage Chip Away at the Stone, they finished with a long version of Walk This Way. You could tell the band enjoyed the show as much as the fans did. It was the best concert I’ve seen of them, and I’ve seen them about a dozen times over the years. From Cobo to Joe Louis, Pine Knob and even the Saginaw Civic Center a few(!) years ago. Thanks Maggie for a great time!
