I had heard rumblings about Johnny's Pizzeria in Fenton closing, and I hoped it was just a rumor. I am sad to say, it is true. After 58 years in business, Johnny's Pizzeria will be closing its doors this week.

Johnny's has been a Fenton staple for as long as I can remember. My parents used to hang out there when they were teenagers. I went there as a teenager. This guy I dated in high school went every week (if not more) to Johnny's for dinner with his parents. Once I was in the picture, I would go too. Trust me, if it's on the menu - I have had it. Out of all the delicious Italian dishes, my absolute favorite thing on the menu is pizza. From the Delio's Deluxe to a simple cheese pizza, I love it all.

One thing that sticks out in my mind about Johnny's was the owner Delio Barletta. Prior to his passing in 2013, Delio would work the room, going table to table to say hello to his guests, and make sure everyone was happy. It was not because he had to, he wanted to. We were not just customers to Delio, we were family. Proof of that is the many generations of families who grew up on Johnny's.

As a matter of fact, when my dad passed away we had his luncheon at Johnny's. I know I am not the only one with stories about Johnny's. I encourage you to share yours too. Johnny's last day open will be Friday, September 17th. Until then the restaurant will be open daily 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Thank you Barletta family for the many years of fond memories and of course delicious food.
