The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services is reporting on Friday that all people in Michigan between the ages of 16-49 can get access to the COVID-19 vaccines beginning on April 5th, 2021.

This declaration is in addition to the current vaccine availabilities for other adults.  Right now, adults who are 50-64 years old can get the vaccines if they have health conditions or disabilities, etc.  All adults who are 50 & over can get the vaccines beginning March 22nd.

The first coronavirus vaccine was made available worldwide back in December in the United Kingdom.  There are now multiple vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson) available in the United States.

There were over 2,000 new cases of the virus on Thursday, according to michigan.gov/coronavirus with 23 deaths.
