Allman Brothers Band Added to 2014 Mountain Jam Festival Lineup
As part of their final year of touring, the Allman Brothers Band will headline the 10th annual Mountain Jam Festival, which will take place June 5-8 at Hunter Mountain, N.Y.
“We are beyond thrilled that The Allman Brothers have decided to join us for our 10th Mountain Jam Festival in their 45th and possibly final year,” Mountain Jam founder Gary Chetkof said. “We really aimed to bring the best of the last nine years back for this year’s milestone and having The Allman Brothers on board feels extremely fitting."
The Allman Brothers, who announced in January that they plan to stop touring at the end of 2014, will perform their first two albums -- 'The Allman Brothers Band' and 'Idlewild South' -- in their entirety. They last performed at Mountain Jam in 2009.
Named after the epic 33-minute live track that filled two sides of the Allmans' 1972 album, 'Eat a Peach,' the Mountain Jam annually brings many of the top names in folk, rock, blues and jam band together for a weekend. This year's festival will also feature Bob Weir & Ratdog, Gov't Mule, whose guitarist, Warren Haynes, is also in the Allman Brothers and who is one of the founders of the festival.
