
Attica Man Takes A Plea for Father’s Day Shooting
Zackary E. Sofikitis of Attica, 35, has pleaded no contest to receiving and concealing a stolen firearm, which is a ten-year felony, and discharging a firearm in or at a building, a four-year felony, and being a habitual offender second conviction, because of a an Oakland County larceny conviction in the 90's. A no contest plea is essentially a guilty plea when it come to the sentencing process.
The arrest came on Father's Day when Sofikitis' ex-wife told police that he had fired a .22 rifle at her and her children. He disappeared into a wooded area, and later turned himself into police. He returns to court April 21st for sentencing.
