This is a huge bummer for those looking forward to escaping to Cedar Point this year.

Cedar Point has announced that they will be delaying the start of the 2020 season due to concerns around the coronavirus outbreak. The original start date for their 150th season was supposed to be May 9th. A number of new attractions are set to open this year for the 150th season.

In a press release, Cedar Point announced:

...For 2020 Season Passholders, we will be adding days to the park’s operating calendar to accommodate for the days the park is temporarily closed (against original 2020 operating calendar). Additionally, 2020 Season Passholders will enjoy added-value benefits to be announced at time of park opening...

We will work with Guests who have an existing reservation or prepaid single-day ticket during the time period of our park closure. For prepaid ticket inquiries, please submit your request at: www.cedarpoint.com/contact-us. For hotel re-bookings, please contact us at cpresorts@cedarpoint.com.

Cedar Point is now aiming for mid-May or later to open for the season. Be sure to check back for future updates.
