If you like your skin flicks to be, well, skin-on-skin, you won’t like this.

The city council in Los Angeles county — home of the San Fernando Valley, where about 90 percent of XXX films are made — approved a new mandate Tuesday that requires all actors in porn movies to wear condoms during filming.

Bypassing a residential vote that could’ve cost the city upwards of $4 million, council members took it upon themselves to pass the measure by a 9-1 vote. It’ll allow the LAPD to perform spot checks on any set once a film permit is issued (there’s a job a lot of cops will volunteer for!) and imposes a fee on porn studios to help cover the costs of enforcement.

Obviously, not everyone is so happy about it (besides the guys hanging in your corner peep show). Filmmakers in particular worry it’ll hurt sales and have said that condom usage requirements are unnecessary because actors are regularly tested for HIV and other sexually-transmitted diseases. Some even say the porn studios are so upset about the mandate that they may leave Los Angeles and set up shop elsewhere, but others think they’re blowing — ahem — a lot of hot air.

We’ll gladly rent out our office space so long as we get to cast the movie. We may finally get to break in this couch.
