The groundbreaking is done, and things are in motion to revamp the infamous Packard Plant in Detroit.

According to The Detroit News, the groundbreaking was yesterday (5/16) and there has been a ton of area businesses that have signed intent to move into the space leases. If you remember, about three and a half years ago, a Peruvian developer Fernando Palazuelo bought the Plant and promised to return it to it's glory.

Many thought that there was no way that this day would come. According to the project developers, this overhaul will take over four phases and will cost about $350 million over 15 years. A lot of the cost and time will be used to clean up the area since it is a hazard due to chemicals.
