Last Wednesday Lapeer police received more than a dozen calls from Deerfield Pines, a mobile home community next to the County Christian Church complaining that a truck was doing "doughnuts' in the church parking lot and driving through people's yards.

Witnesses said that at least ten high school students had been waiting for a school bus while the truck, fueled by alcohol-loaded drivers was tearing through the lot.  Police discovered the truck with a blown engine when they arrived. The drivers were caught walking through the park and one attempted to escape, but later changed his mind and returned. Both men were list

ed as "uncooperative". The man believed to be the driver, later tested a blood alcohol content of .25, more than triple the legal amount. Formal charges for both are pending.
