Drop Off Recycling at Lapeer Habitat For Humanity This Saturday

If you've been wondering what to do with all that junk mail or empty plastic water bottles and would like to do your part in this year's Earth Day campaign to End Plastic Pollution, drop them and your other recyclables off this Saturday, May 19th at the Habitat For Humanity of Lapeer County ReStore from 9 AM to 1 PM. The drop off center is located at the ReStore parking lot on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Normally it's a $3 per car or pick-up truck fee but this Saturday (5/19) $1 will be charged for recycling drop off with the exception of Hadley, Mayfield and Metamora Township residents with proof of residence.

·        Paper - Newspaper, Magazines, Books, Computer Paper, Envelopes, Store Ads, Coupons, and Junk Mail

·        Cardboard and Brown Paper Bags

·        Plastic - Water Bottles, Soda Bottles, Detergent Bottles, Milk Containers, Plastic Packaging and Plastic Items Marked #1 - #7

·        Metal Food Cans, Steel Racks

·        Aluminum - Beverage Containers and Some Food Containers

·        Glass - All Glass Color, Wine Bottles, Jars and Beverage Bottles

·        Polystyrene Foam Items (Please bring in separate bags.)

·        Foam Cups and Containers

·        Rinsed Foam Meat Trays

·        Foam Egg Containers

·        Most Packaging Foam (Peanuts must be in separate containers.)

·        Chemical Containers

·        Hazardous Materials

·        Fluorescent Bulbs

·        Cooking Oil

·        Paint, Paint Cans and Oil Cans

·        Tires

·        Plastic Grocery Bags

·        Flame-Retardant Material

·        Electronics (Televisions, Computers, Printers, Fax Machines, etc.)

·        Non-Working Appliances

·        Batteries (Alkaline, Lithium, Cell Phone.)
