Enjoy a Movie at These Local Theaters for Just $3 on National Cinema Day
With just about everything costing more these days wouldn't it be nice to catch a break and enjoy some fun without breaking the bank? Well, thousands of movie theaters across the country feel your pain and have the perfect solution.
On September 3rd movie tickets will cost just $3 for a day across most theaters in the United States as part of 'National Cinema Day'. The event is all part of encouraging the public to return to theaters, something hit hard by the pandemic and the surge in streaming platforms.
Summer 2022 has proved to be a big surge in moviegoers getting back to normal and breaking records with such mega-hits as Top Gun: Maverick and the Cinema Foundation wants to keep up the momentum and say thank you for all the support.
“After this summer’s record-breaking return to cinemas, we wanted to do something to celebrate moviegoing,” Cinema Foundation president Jackie Brenneman said in a statement. “We’re doing it by offering a ‘thank you’ to the moviegoers that made this summer happen and by offering an extra enticement for those who haven’t made it back yet.”
With ticket prices across the country averaging out at about $9.17 each, the $3 deal is a nice perk. AMC participating theaters are also offering a $5 drink popcorn combo. The event also aligns with the Labor Day weekend’s release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home, The More Fun Stuff Version,” an extended edition of last holiday season’s Marvel mega-hit, which earned $804 million at the domestic box office.
