Get ready, this winter may be awful.

The Old Farmer's Almanac has released its 2021-2022 Winter Weather Forecast and it has been dubbed the "Season of Shivers." If you are anything like me, you are not happy with how this is starting out.

After the last few weeks, I am ready for some cooler temperatures. That does not mean that I am in any way ready for winter though. Having lived in Michigan for almost my whole life, I grew up getting the full version of every season. As a kid it was great! Beaches in the summer and sledding in the winter. However, as I approach my 40's, I am becoming less and less of a fan of winter weather. I no longer enjoy going outside in the winter and having my entire face instantly hurt.

As we finish out the final bit left in the summer of 2021, we will see fall official begin on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 at 3:21 pm. According to the almanac, we will go from rather warm and humid conditions to an "unusually agitated and turbulent month of October." We can all expect a chilly, windy, and wet fall.

After the fall, get ready for "A Season of Shivers" in the United States. The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting that this winter will be positively bone-chilling, below-average temperatures across the nation. It could quite possibly be the coldest we've seen in years. The areas of New England and throughout the Ohio Valley will see both super cold temperatures and lots of snow.

It is predicted that in January, the Great Lakes, Midwest, and Ohio Valley will have more than their fair share of cold and flakey weather. In February, be prepared for a "winter whopper" as well.

So, now I'm depressed. Looks like I'm going to plan some trips to warmer climates this winter.
