
FBI Crime Data Report Finds Michigan’s Overall Violent Crime Rate is Down
Good news for Michigan over all, but there are some counties who have seen a bit of an increase in violent crimes.
The recently released FBI Uniform Crime Report found that Michigan experienced a dip in violent crime in 2015. Which overall is wonderful news to hear, I was able to search the database by county, and here's how Genesee County staked up:
As you can see, Genesee County, according to the data, has seen some relief in some crimes. Assaults have seemed to fall, but homicides don't seem to be dropping. As for other counties, Lapeer for example, has seen a bit of an uptick:
Lapeer County seems to have seen more crime this past year than previous years. The report looks especially concerning in the number of assaults and criminal sexual conduct.
