The fire that forced 250 guests and employees to evacuate started around 7 pm on Saturday. Luckily, no one was injured but it was a huge inconvenience for many.
Bay Mills Resort & Casino which is located in Brimley, Michigan had to temporarily close its doors. All reservations during the next few days are canceled. If you have a question about your upcoming reservation, you can call 1-888-422-9645.
Bay Mills Casino Manager Richard LeBlanc:
Unfortunately, a small room containing what we call the spine of our casino facility was engulfed and resulted in some unfortunate electric issues that resulted in us having to close down the facility.
According to UpNorthLive, closing the doors of the resort and casino for a few days will cost more than the damages done.
LeBlanc:
This is a small operation and we rely upon a very loyal group of customers to come and visit us, and as we are hopeful that 2022 could be our year of the comeback. Something like this that happens, particularly on the weekend, we don't have many weekends, and great summer weekends up here. So it's very unfortunate, and there will probably be some sizable losses as a result of this.
