His daughter-in-law Ashley Goold announced his passing this morning in a heartfelt Facebook post.

"It's been an emotional morning but heaven gained an amazing angel today, we all love you Dennis Mitchell, I am so proud to have called you dad and until we meet again fly high and keep an eye on us down here, God bless our whole family."

Following the announcement, tributes from friends, family, and colleagues have been pouring in on Facebook.

Mitchell, whose name was Dennis Goold, was a well-known member of the Flint motorcycle community, often riding in support of numerous charities throughout Genesee County.

We had the pleasure of working with Dennis in the early 2000s when he served as morning show host on our sister station, WQUS-FM, US-103.1 in Lapeer. His gruff exterior and biker garb were a bit misleading, as Mitchell was relentlessly caring and genuine. He was always cheerful and had a genuine passion for the Classic Rock music he loved playing.

Dennis made a couple of other career stops in the area, working briefly for WRSR in Owosso, before serving as the Commercial Production Director for Cumulus Broadcasting Company's Flint radio group.

He is survived by his wife Emie Goold, five children, 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Mitchell's death comes just days after the news that legendary Flint radio broadcaster Peter. C. Cavanaugh passed away at the age of 79.
