I have a very vivid memory of going to Frankenmuth for the first time with my family. I was 10-years-old. I remember my dad attempting to throw me over the little bridge downtown. At the time the bridge seemed huge to me, I was a kid. He was of course just joking, but I was traumatized.

That is not the kicker - we were there because my dad had recently found out he had a 13-year-old son. Yep. Patrick, my brother lived in Germany for a while so what better place to take him on his first visit to meet his new family than to Frankenmuth? I guess that is a story for another day. Let's talk Oktoberfest now.
