10 Things You Might Not Know About ‘Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter’
The actor who played Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Ted White, said that while he was working with Corey Feldman on the movie, young Corey was so annoying, he actually wanted to kill him in real life. That’s just one of the facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which looks at the not-at-all final chapter of the Friday the 13th franchise with Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter!
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter was supposed to be the final chapter, but there was only one problem: it made too much money. Despite the fact that it was released in April and not October (as it was originally planned), the film made over $11 million on its opening weekend, which may not sound like much now, but was a record back in 1984. It might seem weird to continue a franchise that had titles including The Final Chapter and The Final Friday, but then you consider that Friday the 13th is the highest grossing horror franchise of all-time. But, despite the money, not everyone loved it. Roger Ebert called The Final Chapter an “immoral and reprehensible piece of trash.”
